Polymer Clay - Brands
Though all brands of polymer clay are essentially the same thing (PVC), each has its own recipe and its own unique characteristics. Each also comes with its own instructions for curing, which vary slightly from brand to brand.
Introduction
Because the makers of each brand would prefer you to use their brand of clay only, they don't advertise this fact, but many clay artists and hobbyists find that it is possible to mix different brands of clay together, either to achieve a particular color or to combine the characteristics of two or more brands of clay.
Depending on what you're doing with your clay, one brand's characteristics may make it better than another. If you find that you enjoy polymer clay, you'll probably want to try a little of each brand to get a feel for it and make your own decision, but if you're just starting out, the following descriptions may help steer you in the right direction:
