Embossing Powder

Stampers use embossing powders to create a three-dimensional stamped image.

When exposed to sufficient heat, embossing powder granules melt and cohere into solid lines or shapes (depending on how they are placed). As the heat is removed, the melted powders harden. Embossing powders come in a variety of colors, some of which are glittery, metallic, or holographic. Clear embossing powders, including UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel), can be left clear for a glass-like finish or can be tinted with inks or mica powders. You can use embossing powders for many of the same techniques as you use mica powders, but be aware that if used on the surface of clay during the curing process, they may run as they melt-especially if the surface is not level.
