Magic-Glos is a polymer clay finish designed by polymer clay artist Lisa Pavelka and Ranger.
Magic-Glos is meant primarily for use on flat pieces, because of its thick, self-leveling nature, but it can be thinned with water and painted on with a damp brush. It can be applied immediately after curing-no sanding, buffing, or polishing necessary. Magic-Glos makes a glass-like finish that is thicker than most other finishes, yet remains crystal clear. (However, to build up the desired level of thickness, multiple applications may be necessary.) The squeezable bottle has a fine applicator tip for easy, precise placement.
Contact with moisture and body oils may result in cloudiness, so the fully dried glaze should be given a protective coat of clear acrylic (Future, Varathane, etc.). It is also important to remember is that, unlike most polymer clay finishes, it can't be baked.
It may be possible to use other products that seem similar to Magic-Glos, such as FolkArt's Papier. However, it is important to note that while Magic-Glos is specially formulated to work with polymer clay, other products (like Papier) are not. Testing is advised before you commit to any unproven product.
