There’s plenty of variety in this polymer clay project book. An introduction to polymer clay is followed by a hefty (25-page) section of basic techniques, touching on everything from image transfers and mokume gane (with several variations) to creating your own shape cutters and mimicking natural materials (jade, turquoise, ivory, and more). With thirty-one projects (including several from guest contributors), there’s a little bit of everything—such as millefiori, imitative techniques, jewelry, a paperweight, a kaleidoscope, decorative household objects, small books—even a tiny, jointed teddy bear. The projects tend more toward jewelry than anything else, but the techniques can be adapted to whatever strikes your fancy. Photographs accompany the step-by-step instructions, though not all steps are illustrated. A gallery and index round out the book.
